Because Every Child is Pakistan’s Future

In Pakistan, millions of children are out of school, many working instead of learning. Ilmistan exists to change that story with compassion, technology, and community.

The Problem

Education left out of reach

Children in Sindh and Balochistan are disproportionately out of school. Many spend their days working or searching for recyclables, when they should be learning.

Our North Star

The Vision

Ilmistan is a mission-driven effort to bring every child in Pakistan back to a safe, joyful classroom. We partner with communities, build tech-enabled micro-schools, and create pathways for families facing economic hardship. Our north star is simple: dignity, access, and quality learning. No child left behind.

Community-led

Guided by local mentors and actively supported by parents who encourage and help their children’s learning every step of the way.

Tech-enabled

Simple, easy-to-use tools track each child’s progress and help tailor lessons to their unique needs.

Multilingual learning

We begin lessons in the language children speak at home, gradually introducing Urdu and English to build both national and global connections.

Safe spaces

Child-friendly, dignified micro-classrooms located close to home, where every child feels secure and valued.

Our Funding Philosophy

We believe in building a sustainable, community-driven education model that doesn’t rely on ongoing donations. Instead, we focus on partnerships, local involvement, and self-sustaining initiatives to ensure every child’s learning journey continues without interruption.

On the Ground

Our Work

We are currently working in the rural areas of Sindh, where access to quality education is scarce and many children have never set foot in a classroom. Our mission is simple: to bring learning directly to these communities, breaking the barriers of poverty and distance. Through local language lessons, engaging materials, and community support, we are making sure every child gets a chance to learn, dream, and thrive.

Our Story

The Story

Ilmistan was founded by Hammad Hassan, an international conference speaker and software developer based in Germany. The journey began with listening to families in rural communities and seeing children eager to learn but kept away by distance and hardship. Ilmistan is a promise to bridge that gap, building small, safe learning circles powered by compassion, community, and simple technology.

We work alongside parents and local mentors to keep children learning. Our team mentors families and provides free access to education: books, basic supplies, and guidance, so every child can start and stay in school.
